DE SHOW
Nice to meet you, René Meijer, 51 years old, very experienced guitarist, singer, presenter, composer, lyricist, in both Dutch and English and call myself a troubadour. I also sing covers, mainly from the 60s and 70s. My heroes are Neil Young Bob Dylan and Robert Long, which of course can be found in my repertoire in my Spotify playlists, supplemented by many others.
In 2014 I won the prestigious award for Best Country Album "Dashboard Jesus" and Best Country Song "I should have never ever said it in the first place" in the Netherlands. This album was recorded in Nashville, where I have collaborated with the legendary Muscle Shoals pianist Spooner Oldham Rock'n Roll Hall of Famer and is also a keyboard player of Neil Young and Bob Dylan. The album with only own work can be listened to here and can be downloaded via Spotify.
I also play for more than 30 years in the acoustic trio "Expecting To Fly", named after the song of the band Buffalo Springfield. I also have a trio with two singers, under the name "The Rubies".
At the moment I am writing new Dutch-language work for my new album, which is planned later this year.
With musical regards,
René
